Educate

Our Stage is Your Classroom!

Every educator receives a comprehensive teacher resource guide tailored to each performance. These guides feature grade-appropriate activities that connect seamlessly to classroom learning, helping students see their lessons come to life on stage.

Aligned with Learning

All programs are designed in alignment with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards, enriching subjects such as history, literature, science, and social studies through the performing arts. Class Acts bridges the gap between classroom and stage, fostering deeper understanding while igniting a passion for learning.

Empowering Educators & Expanding Access

We know teachers are vital in shaping young minds. Our programs provide them with dynamic tools to make learning interactive and engaging. Thanks to the leadership of the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts, and guided by Vice President of Arts Education & Entertainment Katrina Young, scholarships—including admission and transportation support—ensure every child can experience the arts, regardless of circumstance.

Engage

Experience the Arts Beyond the Stage!

Workshops: After select shows, students can stay for hands-on activities at the theater that deepen their connection to the performance.
Artist Residencies: Local professional artists bring week-long projects into schools, from photography and drumming to theater and visual arts.

Theater Tours: Behind-the-scenes experiences that build a deeper connection to the performing arts.
Literacy Link: A program to inspire young readers and equip educators with resources.

Empowering Youth Through Arts Education

Live Perfomances

Class Acts brings 14 professional productions to the Mahaffey Theater stage each year, transforming lessons from history, literature, science, and social studies into unforgettable live experiences. With curriculum-aligned study guides for teachers and scholarships for students, these performances connect learning with the magic of theater and ensure every child has a seat in the audience.

BAM! Festivals

BAM! Festivals are hands-on cultural field trips that blend literature, visual arts, performing arts, and music into a day of creativity and exploration. Students rotate through engaging stations led by professional artists—from drumming circles to mural painting—making the arts accessible, interactive, and fun. With free books for every child and transportation scholarships, BAM! ensures thousands of students each year experience the transformative power of the arts.

Summer Camp

Each summer, students immerse themselves in a three-week Broadway-style intensive where they learn singing, acting, and dancing from professional teaching artists. With 60–70% of campers attending on scholarship, the program provides unparalleled access to the arts, culminating in a fully staged production on the Mahaffey stage. Camp builds confidence, creativity, and collaboration, empowering young performers to shine both on and off the stage.
